TUSCALOOSA | Class 6A No. 5-ranked Hillcrest overpowered Class 5A No. 5-ranked Woodlawn 71-48 Monday night in boys basketball, avenging an earlier loss.
In fact, Hillcrest’s last loss was on Dec. 5 to Woodlawn.
Perrin Buford powered the win with 21 points and 16 rebounds. James Thomas scored 14 points, and both Joe Armour and Marcus Matthews scored 10.
Gerald Maddox scored 16 and Quinterian McConnico 12 to lead Woodlawn.
Hillcrest (16-4) plays at Central tonight at 7:30.
Fayette County 67,
FAYETTE | Keyon Jones scored 18, Montel Haley 13 and Daniel Dixon 11 in the Fayette County win.
Sulligent’s Deon Jenkins led all scorers with 23 points.
Fayette County (14-5) plays at Gordo today at 1:30 p.m. in an "in-school" matchup.
Marion County 54,
MARION | DeShawn Riebeschl scored 13 points, Ready Swanigan 11 and Collin Roberts had nine points and six assists for Marion County.
Code Cooper was high scorer for Addison with nine points.
Marion County (17-1, 5-0) hosts Brilliant today.
Berry 45, OT
BERRY | Zarrian Grant scored 23 points, going 11 of 11 at the free-throw line in the Northside win. Andrew Robertson scored 11. Patrick Gear led the Rams with 11 rebounds to go with seven points, and James Moore had 10 rebounds and six points.
For Berry, Devan Tyree led all scorers with 24 points. Terrance "Tank" Hollingsworth scored seven.
Berry (10-11) plays at Phillips today. Northside (3-12) hosts Greensboro at 7 tonight.
GORDO | Chase Garrison scored 20 and Jordan Junkins 16 for Winfield.
Aaron Cousette had 15 points, 10 rebounds and two steals for Gordo. Reid Lancaster had 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals, and Robert Thomas had 10 points, six rebounds and one steal.
Gordo (4-11) hosts Fayette County today at 1:30 p.m. in an "in-school" game.
Tuscaloosa County 38
NORTHPORT | Javaris Richey and Keante Washington led Central with 14 points.
Dylan Wint was the high-scorer for Tuscaloosa County with nine points.
Central (18-6) hosts Hillcrest today.

BROOKWOOD | Jaylin Prewitt scored 10 points and Josh Winingham had eight points to co-lead Brookwood’s home win.
Hale County was led by Caleb Crawford with 10 points and Blake Williams with nine.
Hale County (10-9) plays at Pickens County at 7 tonight. Brookwood (5-16) hosts Holt at 7 tonight.
