Breakdown: Bo Scarbrough scored on a 92-yard run and gained 159 yards in Northridge’s 28-13 win at Minor. Tanner Cline thew a touchdown pass to Cyontai Lewis, Rashaad Howard recovered a blocked punt in the end zone and Deondre Rogers scored on a 12-yard run. Calen Campbell scored two touchdowns as top-ranked Hoover beat Jackson-Olin 50-0. Taylor Brown and JeMarcus Taylor each caught a touchdown pass.
Carroll’s prediction: Hoover 34, Northridge 21
Hillcrest (1-2, 1-1)at Hueytown (1-2, 0-2)
Breakdown: Quarterback Riley Nix ran for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass to Austin Williams in Hillcrest’s 21-0 victory over Bessemer City. Chales Bester had a touchdown run. Jordan Robertson and Jamie Hayes each had an interception, and the Hillcrest defense allowed 12 yards rushing. Hueytown lost to Tuscaloosa County 3-0.
Carroll’s prediction: Hillcrest 17, Hueytown 14
Tuscaloosa County (2-1, 2-0)at Bessemer City (2-1, 1-1)
Breakdown: Emiliano Ramirez kicked a 23-yard field goal for the only points in Tuscaloosa County’s win over Hueytown. Jonathon Fonbah led TCHS with 42 yards rushing on 16 carries. The TCHS defense allowed 97 yards rushing and 15 yards passing. The Wildcats have limited opponents to 70.3 yards rushing and 47.6 yards passing per game.
Carroll’s prediction: Tuscaloosa County 24, Bessemer City 0
Brookwood (2-1, 1-1)at Central (2-1, 1-1)
Breakdown: Quarterback Seth Franks threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score in Brookwood’s 34-30 win over Paul W. Bryant. Brookwood took the lead for good on Franks’ 1-yard run with 6:28 left. Justin Carter gained 102 yards and scored on a 67-yard run. Lineman Jed Green had 10 tackles for the Brookwood defense. Vincent Davis threw a touchdown pass to Kalias Robertson in Central’s 41-7 loss at McAdory. Davis threw for 84 yards.
Carroll’s prediction: Brookwood 26, Central 20
Wenonah (3-0, 2-0)at Paul W. Bryant (0-3, 0-2)
Breakdown: Tyler Slayton rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown in Paul W. Bryant’s loss to Brookwood. Joe Pradat threw for 180 yards and a touchdown. Christopher Moore-Odum scored on a 65-yard punt return. Carlton Robertson scored on a fumble return. Wenonah beat Fairfield 28-8.
Carroll’s prediction: Wenonah 33, Bryant 28
Selma (1-2, 0-2)at Demopolis (3-0, 2-0)
Breakdown: Demetrius Kemp scored on a 1-yard run and a 90-yard kickoff return as Demopolis beat Saraland 41-14. Cortez Lewis, Rodney Harper and Brock Montgomery caught touchdown passes from Tucker Jones, who scored on a 1-yard run. Demopolis is ranked No. 10 this week in the Class 5A poll. Selma lost to Citronelle 28-14.

Sumter Central (0-3, 0-2)at Jackson (3-0, 0-2)
Breakdown: LeeOtis Washington had 171 all-purpose yards and caught two touchdown passes from Jadarius Wilson in Sumter Central’s 27-12 loss to Satsuma. Jackson, ranked No. 3 in Class 5A, beat Greenville 31-0.
Carroll’s prediction: Jackson 48, Sumter Central 12
Bibb County (2-1, 2-0)at Jemison (2-1, 2-0)
Breakdown: Adam Gaddis, who has 575 rushing yards for the season, gained 254 and scored four touchdowns in Bibb County’s 59-13 win over Oak Grove. Gaddis, who has 11 touchdowns, including one on a kickoff return, is averaging 191.7 yards per game. Quarterback TJ Lockett gained 196 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Choctaws rushed for 560 yards on 37 attempts. Justin Dedrick had a 28-yard touchdown run, and Steven Taylor scored on a 68-yard fumble return. Jemison beat Carbon Hill 69-8.

West Blocton (0-3, 0-2)at Dora (3-0, 0-2)
Breakdown: West Blocton gained 158 yards in total offense and allowed 441 in a 55-0 loss to Calera. Dora beat Corner 39-17.
Carroll’s prediction: Dora 38, West Blocton 12
American Christian Academy (2-1, 2-0)at Holt (1-2, 1-1)
Breakdown: ACA recovered four fumbles in a 36-20 win over Northside with linebacker Stevie Jones scoring on a 40-yard return. Quarterback Austin Mohlenbrok threw for 119 yards and two touchdowns. Aaron Box gained 70 yards and scored a touchdown. Holt had 208 yards rushing and 128 yards passing in a 46-6 victory over Greene County. D.J. Matthews, who caught a 58-yard touchdown pass from Zuriel Kirkwood, threw a 25-yards scoring pass to Brian Murray. Matthews leads the Ironmen with 171 yards rushing.

Fayette County (2-1, 2-0)at Sipsey Valley (1-2, 1-1)
Breakdown: Trae Madison had 126 total yards, ran for two scores and caught a touchdown pass in Fayette County’s 31-8 win over Gordo. Tevin Madison had a touchdown catch, and Will Redmond came up with two interceptions. Darnell Williams had nine tackles and two sacks. Fayette County’s Lance Tucker was the first head coach at Sipsey Valley, which opened in 2010. Braylan Smith scored two touchdowns and Carson Windle and Garret Lewis had one each in Sipsey Valley’s 27-22 win over Greensboro. Windle leads the Bears with 176 yards rushing, and Lewis has 163. Lewis has thrown for 133 yards.
Carroll’s prediction: Fayette County 27, Sipsey Valley 21
Greene County (0-3, 0-2)at Gordo (2-1, 1-1)
Breakdown: Lane Moss threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Devin Prude in Gordo’s loss to Fayette County. Moss has completed 42 of 83 passes for 592 yards. Daylon Rice leads Gordo in rushing with 143 yards. Jamarcus Martin has 123 yards rushing and leads the team with 25 total tackles. Chris Guyton has 23 tackles and two fumble recoveries.
Carroll’s prediction: Gordo 52, Greene County 6
Greensboro (1-2, 0-2)at Northside (2-1, 1-1)
Breakdown: Zarrian Grant rushed for 127 yards and scored two touchdowns in Northside’s loss to ACA. Northside gained 218 yards rushing on 34 attempts. Grant leads the Rams with 475 yards rushing. A.J. Travis has 427 yards rushing. Travis has a team-high eight touchdowns, and Grant has six. Quante Brown threw two touchdown passes to Darryl Campbell and Cordell Chavers scored on a 30-yard run in Greensboro’s loss to Sipsey Valley.
Carroll’s prediction: Northside 26, Greensboro 18
Cordova (0-3, 0-2)at Winfield (1-2, 0-2)
Breakdown: Eddie McCollum, Jesse Scarborough and Spencer Beard each scored a touchdown in Winfield’s 19-18 loss to Danville. McCollum gained 102 yards on 19 carries. Cordova is still looking for its first win after losing to Vinemont 34-14 last week.
Carroll’s prediction: Winfield 22, Cordova 6
Aliceville (2-1, 2-0)at Cold Springs (1-2, 0-2)
Breakdown: Aliceville’s Jeremy McMullen gained 249 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 42-14 win over Sulligent. Also for Aliceville, Christopher Crowell had 110 receiving yards and Joe Robinson had 100. Jocarious Spruill threw for 235 yards and two scores. Aliceville has won two straight games since an opening loss to Gordo. Cold Springs lost to Hale County 41-21 last week.
Carroll’s prediction: Aliceville 38, Cold Springs 14
Hale County (1-2, 1-1)at Francis Marion (0-3, 0-2)
Breakdown: Hale County earned its first win as freshman Blake Williams rushed for 199 yards on 10 carries and scored four touchdowns against Cold Springs. Williams scored on runs of 9, 34, 39 and 25 yards. Francis Marion lost to Oakman 64-26.
Carroll’s prediction: Hale County 34, Francis Marion 12
Sulligent (1-2, 1-1)at Lamar County (2-1, 1-1)
Breakdown: Dallas Cockerham rushed for 193 yards on 19 carries and threw a touchdown pass to Devin Dias in Lamar County’s 42-32 victory over R.C. Hatch. Jamar Plant caught a touchdown pass, and Deion Jenkins scored on an interception return in Sulligent’s loss to Aliceville.
Carroll’s prediction: Lamar County 26, Sulligent 24
Maplesville (3-0, 2-0)at Akron (3-0, 2-0)
Breakdown: Akron’s Quinxarious Jeffery scored on a 94-yard interception return in a 26-0 victory over Holy Spirit. Jeffery also had a 52-yard touchdown run. Johnny Tubbs threw for 138 yards and ran for 48. Maplesville is ranked No. 3 in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 1A poll.
Carroll’s prediction: Maplesville 44, Akron 20
Parrish (1-2, 0-2)at Berry (1-2, 1-1)
Breakdown: Terrance "Tank" Hollingsworth was named the Offensive Player of the Week by the Alabama Sports Writers Association after Berry’s 42-33 win over Hubbertville. Hollingsworth carried the football 25 times for 336 yards and scored four touchdowns on runs of 17, 25, 2 and 14 yards. Hollingsworth leads the team with 459 yards rushing, averaing 11.2 yards per attempt. Maken Potter and Clancy Brown each had a touchdown run for Berry. Parrish lost to top-ranked Marion County 38-12.

Holy Spirit (0-3, 0-2)at Keith (3-0, 2-0)
Breakdown: Michael Al-Dijilia leads Holy Spirit in rushing with 142 yards. Garrett Anderson has 74, and Derrick Garnett has rushed for 60. Anderson has completed 13 of 22 passes for 134 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Al-Dijilia has six catches for 52 yards. Jon Dever has six catches for 23 yards. Keith beat Ellwood Christian 34-7.
Carroll’s prediction: Keith 37, Holy Spirit 12
Hubbertville (2-1, 1-1)at Marion County (3-0, 2-0)
Breakdown: Aaron Dillard leads Hubbertville with 534 yards rushing and seven touchdowns. Dillard carried 23 times for 233 yards and scored three touchdowns in the loss to Berry. Corey Stewart has 233 yards rushing for Hubbertville. Dillard has thrown for 81 yards and leads the team with 21 total tackles. Marion County rushed for 307 yards and threw for 118 in the win over Parrish.

Linden (3-0, 2-0)at McIntosh (2-1, 2-0)
Breakdown: Marquis Shelton rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns as No. 2-ranked Linden beat St. Luke’s 34-14. Jamal Lewis had a touchdown run, and Jalen Lewis caught a touchdown pass from Anthony Robinson, who scored on a two-yard run. McIntosh beat J.U. Blacksher 32-12.
Carroll’s prediction: Linden 42, McIntosh 13
Pickens County (3-0, 2-0)at Brilliant (1-2, 1-1)
Breakdown: Pickens County, which is ranked No. 6 this week in the Class 1A poll, is coming off a 42-0 victory over Lynn. Brilliant beat South Lamar 37-14.
Carroll’s prediction: Pickens County 40, Brilliant 14
Lynn (2-1, 1-1)at South Lamar (0-3, 0-2)
Breakdown: South Lamar’s Blake Mitchell ran for a touchdown and threw a 44-yard scoring pass to Dylan Wilson in the loss to Brilliant. Jason Lawson had 10 tackles and a sack for the South Lamar defense. Justin Cheeks had nine tackles and recovered a fumble. Cheeks and Lawson have 19 tackles each. Cheeks leads the team with two sacks.

Billingsley (1-2, 1-1)at Sunshine (0-3, 0-2)
Breakdown: Sunshine lost to Maplesville 61-0. Billingsley beat Autaugaville 2-60.

John Essex (2-1, 1-1)at St. Luke’s (1-2, 1-1)
Breakdown: Cedric Cook ran for two touchdowns and had 12 tackles, three assists and two interceptions as John Essex defeated Marengo 34-14. Demarcus Bennett rushed for 168 yards and scored two touchdowns. Markeise Tucker had a touchdown run.
Carroll’s prediction: John Essex 26, St. Luke’s 22
Tuscaloosa Academy (4-0)at Restoration Academy (5-0)
Breakdown: Tuscaloosa Academy ranks No. 5 in the AISA poll after a 42-7 victory over previously undefeated Morgan Academy. Jonathan Plott ran for a score and threw two touchdown passes to Parker Farley. Plott completed 6 of 13 passes for 129 yards. He has thrown for 436 yards and seven touchdowns. Jaevon Walton, who scored a touchdown on a 6-yard run, leads the Knights with 486 yards and eight touchdowns. The defense limited Morgan Academy to 86 yards and forced five turnovers. Restoration Academy, No. 4 in the the AISA poll, beat Coosa Valley Academy 42-20.

Breakdown: Jacob Rose rushed for 125 yards and scored two touchdowns in Southern Academy’s 42-21 win over Sumter Academy. Clayton Hall rushed for 107 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown run, and threw a scoring pass to Cole Marsh. Matthew Brady had a 39-yard touchdown run, and Dylan Henry scored on an interception return. Clarke Prep, No. 8 in the AISA poll, beat Jackson Academy 50-3.

Breakdown: Brant Lewis scored on a 4-yard run in Marengo Academy’s 16-6 loss to Patrician Academy. Hayden Huckabee gained 80 yards on 13 carries. Kyle Adams led the defense with 14 tackles and a sack. Wilcox Academy beat Crenshaw Christian 32-16.

Eastwood Christian (1-4, 0-3) at Pickens Academy (4-0, 2-0)
Breakdown: Garrett Estest gained 101 yards on 27 carries and scored five touchdowns as Pickens Academy beat South Choctaw Academy 41-12. Josh Lewis rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown. Joel Pratt led the defense with 10 tackles. Pickens Academy is No. 10 in the AISA poll. Eastwood Christian lost to South Montgomery County Academy 49-28.

Breakdown: Sumter Academy’s Austin Dirksen, Christopher Yonker and Blake Dial each scored a touchdown in Sumter Academy’s loss to Southern Academy. Yonker leads the Eagles with 371 rushing yards. Nathan Williamson has 333. Yonker also leads the team with 40 tackles.

Breakdown: North River Christian lost to New Life Christian 65-6.
