Pleasant Grove rallies to knock off Central

PLEASANT GROVE | Charles Buchannon rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns as the Pleasant Grove Spartans rallied to edge the Central Falcons 21-14 Friday night in a Class 5A, Region 5 matchup.
The Spartans (4-4, 3-3) trailed 14-7 at the end of the third quarter but rallied with two touchdowns in the final period. Buchannon scored on a 26-yard run, before Jake Sloan threw the game-winning touchdown on a 35-yard pass to Willie Hicks with 3:18 remaining.
In a low-scoring first half, Pleasant Grove held a 7-0 lead at halftime.
Central got on the scoreboard in the third quarter on a 3-yard touchdown run by Vincent Davis and a 2-point conversion gave the Falcons an 8-7 lead.
The Falcons increased their advantage to 14-7 when Vincent Davis hit Leonard Tyree for a 15-yard touchdown pass.
Central (5-3, 3-3) travels to Fairfield next Friday.
