AREA ROUNDUP: Greensboro crushes Greene County 68-0

EUTAW | Keimondre Turner rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns to lead Greensboro in a Class 3A, Region 3 game.
Turner had rushing touchdowns of 15 and 42 yards and Jevontey Smith had a 55-yard touchdown run. Smith also caught a 37-yard pass from Quante Brown.
Brown also connected with Tyrez McCain for a 22-yard score. Daitwon Smith, Cordell Chavers and Jalen Reed each added rushing touchdowns.
Greensboro (5-4, 3-4) hosts West Blocton next Friday, while Greene County (0-9, 0-7) hosts Aliceville.
Parrish 48, South Lamar 22
PARRISH | Jermichael Harris passed for three touchdowns and rushed for two more to lead Parrish past South Lamar in a Class 1A, Region 5 game.
He completed passes of 80 and 30 yards to Marcus Harris for touchdowns. Reginald Harris hauled in a 13-yard touchdown.
South Lamar’s Hershel Smith carried the ball 14 times for 163 yards and scored on runs of 36, 27 and 12 yards.
South Lamar (0-9, 0-7) plays at Sulligent next Friday.
Linden 67, Fruitdale 6
LINDEN | Marquis Shelton carried the ball nine times for 137 yards, scoring on touchdowns of 23, 18 and 5 yards in Linden’s Class 1A, Region 1 win.
The Patriots ran for 437 yards. Jalen Lewis had 83 yards with scores of 12 and 54 yards. Prentiss McCuiston ran for 74 yards including a 45-yard touchdown.
No. 2 Linden (9-0, 7-0) hosts Southern Choctaw on Thursday.
South Choctaw Academy 34, Sumter Academy 14
TOXEY | Adam Bonner led South Choctaw Academy with 144 rushing yards and one touchdown in a win over Sumter Academy.
Sumter Academy’s Christopher Yonker had 17 carries for 112 yards and touchdown runs of 3 and 7 yards. Yonker had 22 tackles with an interception and a blocked extra point.
Sumter Academy finished its season with a 4-6 record.
Clarke Prep 56, Pickens Academy 27
GROVE HILL | Joel Pratt had 107 yards receiving and Josh Lewis threw two touchdowns, but it was not enough as Pickens Academy fell.
Lewis connected with Pratt for 60 yards and with Sam Beachler from 25 and finished with 155 yards passing. Lewis also scored on a 5-yard run.
Joseph McGlawn led Pickens Academy’s rushing attack with four carries for 74 yards, including a 61-yard score.
Pickens Academy (8-2) hosts Lakeside Academy in the first round of the AISA playoffs next Friday.
Corner 39, Bibb County 25
CENTREVILLE | T.J. Lockett accounted for three touchdowns but Bibb County was knocked out of playoff contention in a Class 4A, Region 4 matchup.
Lockett completed 11 of 20 passes for 218 yards with two touchdowns, and had 14 carries for 51 yards with a 4-yard touchdown run.
Adam Gaddis had 16 carries for 141 yards to lead Bibb County, including a 61-yard touchdown. Buster Goode and Jay Anderson each caught a touchdown pass.
Bibb County (3-5, 3-4) travels to face Pleasant Grove next Friday.
Hubbertville 33, Lynn 18
HUBBERTVILLE | Aaron Dillard rushed for 265 yards to lead Hubbertville to a playoff berth in a Class 1A, Region 5 game.
Dillard scored on runs of 5, 16 and 47 yards. Bess Benton scored on a 2-yard touchdown run and Landon Miller added a 3-yard scoring run.
Hubbertville had a goal-line stand in the fourth quarter. Dillard and Devin Marcum stopped Dakota Bell on fourth-and-goal at the 4.
Hubbertville (6-3, 4-3) hosts Vina next Friday.
Ellwood Christian 36, Akron 7
AKRON | Ellwood Christian’s Jayln Furlow scored on runs of 23 and 25 yards to lead the Eagles over Akron in Class 1A, Region 3 action.
Johnny Tubbs caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Laderius Hayes for Akron.
Akron (4-5, 2-5) plays at R.C. Hatch next Friday.
Oak Grove 48, West Blocton 13
WEST BLOCTON | Trey Prestridge scored four touchdowns to lead Oak Grove in a Class 4A, Region 4 game.
Daniel Murkerson scored the first touchdown on a 61-yard run and then Prestridge scored two touchdowns in the first half. Preston Hooper scored on a 28-yard run to give Oak Grove a 28-0 halftime lead.
West Blocton got touchdowns from Colby Dodson late in the third quarter on a 5-yard run and Tristan Cook finished the scoring with a 4-yard run.
West Blocton (2-7, 1-5) travels to Greensboro next Friday.
Winfield 33, Good Hope 6
GOOD HOPE | Xavier McCollum rushed for three touchdowns and 189 yards on 22 carries to lead the Winfield Pirates.
McCollum’s scoring was highlighted by an 87-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. He opened the game’s scoring midway through the first quarter with a 1-yard scoring run. His final scoring play came on a 5-yard run with 9:54 remaining in the game.
Winfield (3-6) travels to Lamar County next Friday.
Marion County 57, Brilliant 0
GUIN | Sean Wallace accounted for four touchdowns and DeShawn Reibesehl scored four more to help Marion County finish undefeated in Class 1A, Region 5.
Wallace scored on runs of 22 and 2 yards and connected with Ready Swanigan and Reibesehl from 74 and 13 yards. In addition to the touchdown grab, Reibesehl scored from 16 and 11 yards out and returned an interception 39 yards for a score.
Marion County (9-0, 7-0) hosts Red Bay next Friday.
Autaugaville 34, Sunshine 0
NEWBERN | Stefan Palmer caught three passes for 98 yards and a touchdown and snared two interceptions for Autaugaville.
Dillon Howard scored two touchdowns for the Eagles, while Quinterrius Curry ran for 105 yards and a touchdown.
Sunshine (2-7, 2-5) became Autaugaville’s second shutout victim.
Pickens County 49, Berry 22
BERRY | Jermarcus Brown scored five touchdowns and rushed for 252 yards as the Pickens County Tornadoes wrapped up second place in Class 1A, Region 5.
Brown scored on runs of 22, 10 and 94 yards. He also returned the second-half kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown and caught a 50-yard scoring pass from Devonte Simon.
Darrien Latham and Deonte Simon scored the other two Pickens County touchdowns. Latham scored on a 4-yard run in the first quarter, and Simon caught a 20-yard pass from Devonte Simon in the third quarter.
Clancy Brown had two touchdown runs for Berry, while J.C. Finch caught a 27-yard scoring pass from Maken Potter. Tank Hollingsworth led Berry in rushing with 100 yards on 22 carries.
Pickens County (8-1, 6-1) hosts Gordo on Thursday night, while Berry (6-3, 5-2) hosts Oakman next Friday.
Greenville 61, Sumter Central 8
GREENVILLE | Greenville scored three touchdowns on interception returns and Kenterrion Riley scored on touchdown runs of 6, 5 and 24 yards.
Michael Smith had a 55-yard interception return, Aquintas McDole returned one 70 yards and Jeremy Lewis went 58 yards with a pick-six for the Tigers.
Jerome Watkins had touchdown runs of 5 and 35 yards.
JaMarcus Thompson ran for 102 yards on 22 carries and had 111 yards in kickoff returns for Sumter Central, and also ran for a two-point conversion. Davonte May hit Clinton Moore with an 11-yard pass for Sumter Central’s score.
Sumter Central (1-8) travels to McGill-Toolen in Mobile on Thursday.
R.C. Hatch 30, Sulligent 17
SULLIGENT | Juwan Metcalfe rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown for Sulligent, but it wasn’t enough as R.C. Hatch reeled off 24 consecutive points in the second and third quarters to pull away.
Metcalfe scored his touchdown on a 33-yard run in the first quarter. He also finished with 10 tackles and one fumble recovery on defense.
Roman Glass followed with a 4-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter that gave Sulligent a 14-6 lead, before R.C. Hatch answered with its 24-point outburst.
Max Witzigmann kicked a 30-yard field goal in the fourth quarter for Sulligent.
Sulligent (2-7 overall, 2-5 Class 2A, Region 8) hosts South Lamar next Friday.
