Davis’ late score puts Central in playoffs

FAIRFIELD | Vincent Davis accounted for two touchdowns as the Central Falcons clinched a playoff berth with a 16-14 win over Fairfield in Class 5A, Region 5 action Friday night.

Davis scored on a 1-yard run late in the fourth quarter. The touchdown was set up by a Rudy Bates’ 50-yard punt return.

Central trailed 6-3 at halftime. Kalias Robertson caught a 35-yard pass from Davis to give the Falcons the lead.

David Robinson kicked a 41-yard field goal for Central’s first points of the game.

Central (5-4, 4-3) hosts American Christian Academy next Friday for homecoming.
